Duric To Stick With Lim’s Prestige
Australian jockey Vlad Duric has decided to ride the Stephen Gray-trained Lim’s Prestige in the Group 3 WFA $200,000 Jumbo Jet Trophy over 1400m on Sunday.
Duric could have ridden the Michael Freedman trained Ntini in Sunday’s feature race at Kranji Racecourse but has chosen to stick with the 2007 Singapore Derby winner.
For those betting on Singapore races this weekend you should note that Duric feels the 1400m will be as far as Ntini wants it to be while Lim’s Prestige is about to appreciate the step up in distance over the coming month’s with the Group 1 Kranji Mile over 1600m in September followed by the Group 1 Raffles Cup over 1800m a month later his main targets.
Lim’s Prestige resumed three week’s ago from an extended break on the sidelines and ran a nice two length third over 1200m.
No doubt he will appreciate the step up in distance with just the “second up” syndrome the only hurdle.
