Reward For Effort Ready for Manikato Stakes

The Peter Moody-trained Reward for Effort moved closer to his top Timeform 121 figure with an easy win at the 1100-metre, Group 3 Concorde Stakes as he tries to copy the trail of 2008 winner Typhoon Zed. The Concorde Stakes was Reward for Effort’s first race since he competed in the 1100-metre Listed John Monash Stakes at the Caulfield racecourse in July.

Shinn Partners with All Silent at Manikato Stakes

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Blake Shinn will partner with the sprint star All Silent at next month’s Manikato Stakes. Trainer Grahame Begg confirmed the services of Shinn after he and All Silent partnered in a Warwick Farm racecourse barrier trial for the first time on Monday morning.

Hinchinbrook to Miss Golden Rose Stakes

Although Hinchinbrook is scheduled to race at the Caulfield Guineas, the Gerald Ryan-trained Hinchinbrook will not compete in the $1 million Golden Rose Stakes. The one-time Golden Rose Stakes favourite will not compete in the said horse race for Ryan decided that this Group 1 race comes too soon given the fact that the three-year-old race horse missed a vital lead-up run last week.
